Friday on the Farm

Wild Bergamot is blooming! It is one of my favorite native prairie plants. Love all of the purple flowers 💜

I transplanted Wild Bergamot to my new prairie garden two weeks ago. And, I was so excited to see it blooming! The bees and butterflies are too! When snapping photos of the Wild Bergamot, a hummingbird was fluttering to feed. That made me so happy ðŸ’œ

Friday on the Farm

milkweed is blooming
The milkweed along the rural roadside is blooming. Butterflies and bees will be fluttering and buzzing! Happy pollinators!

As conservationists and stewards of our land, we maintain our roadsides. After bird eggs have hatched in the spring, we spray to kill any weeds growing. To provide more wildlife habitat, we do not mow our roadsides.

Friday on the Farm

monarch on red clover

A Monarch butterfly collects nectar from a red clover blossom. The red clover was in full bloom as Monarch butterflies melodically fluttered throughout the field. It was so beautiful and peaceful.

Friday on the Farm

a walk in the country

Late afternoon, I enjoyed a walk to the pasture. The colors of the countryside are amazingly beautiful! The yellow, purple, and green were brilliant with the falling sun. It made my heart smile. The colors of nature...I love simple pleasures like this.

Fall in Love with Fall

I have no favorite season, as I am fond of them all. In fact with each change of season, I find different aspects to love and appreciate. There are so many reasons to adore fall. On weekends, I love waking up to brisk, sunny fall mornings. Crisp mornings transform into beautiful, warm afternoons. Fall colors are absolutely magnificent with hues ranging in read, orange, yellow and purple. These colors are an amazing contrast to the bright blue sky. It is incredible the colors that nature creates. The sound of the breeze blowing through the trees and leaves gently floating to the ground is peaceful. The fuzzy caterpillars are a funny sight as they inch their way along. As a young girl, I loved finding different colors of caterpillars. Fall has a simple beauty in its sights and sounds. Take time to appreciate the beauty of fall.
