happy adoption day #1

happy adoption day, diesel!
my sweet, sassy, and faithful friend.

It has been a year since I adopted Diesel! So, we celebrated his special day with a PAWTY!

We celebrated his adoption day with new toys, and a homemade pumpkin puppuccino! He thought is was PAWFECT!

To prepare the pumpkin puppuccino, I mixed together equal portions of whipped cream and pumpkin. Into a cup, I spooned in the mixture then added a dog bone for a cute little topping. So cute!

Diesel absolutely loved his pumpkin puppuccino! We will be making this an annual adoption day tradition. Looking forward to many more BARKTACULAR years with D ♥

banana pumpkin dog treats

Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a dog. The stockings [ filled with banana pumpkin dog treats ] were hung by the chimney with care...

2      eggs
1      banana
1 cup      pumpkin
3 cups      wheat flour

Mix the eggs, banana, and pumpkin together. Add in flour. Stir ingredients well.

Dust a flat surface and rolling pin with flour. Roll out the dough to 1/8" and cut the dough into shapes. [ I used a cookie cutter in the shape of a dog bone. ] Place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 16 - 20 minutes. Let the treats cool before storing.

The pups will enjoy these banana pumpkin dog treats on Christmas day!

peanut butter dog treats

So, I decided to make homemade dog treats as Christmas gifts for the sweet dogs in my life...

2 cups      wheat flour
1 tablespoon      baking powder
1 cup      all-natural peanut butter
1 cup      milk

In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Mix the milk and peanut butter together in another bowl. Add the ingredients together and mix well.

Knead the dough in the bowl. Dust a surface with flour and roll the dough out to a thickness of a 1/4 inch. Cut into shapes. [ I used a circle ] Place on a cookie sheet. Bake at 360 degrees for 22 minutes. Let the treats cool before storing in a container.

[ I bundled 6 treats together with twine and placed in a paper bag to look super cute! ]

Rosco...my farm dog

rosco was tired after a long day of planting corn...
i found him in the back of the truck resting on empty seed corn sacks

My faithful farm dog, Rosco passed away on May 14. It broke my heart. He was my loyal and loving friend of almost thirteen years. We shared many great years on the farm. And, I will forever cherish the memories. Rosco will always have a special place in my heart.

He was a true farm dog. He loved living and working on our grain and beef cattle farm. He especially loved calving season. Rosco enjoyed riding in my truck, checking cattle on the back of my four-wheeler, and riding with my dad in the Gleaner during harvest. He also loved my three nieces and when they visited the farm.

The farm has not been the same without Rosco. I especially miss him riding out with me to the pasture to check the cattle herds. I truly miss him.

Ross was a great farm dog. I hope he found a herd of Shorthorns to watch over in Heaven.
